What is the meaning of yoga?
It is union. It works by uniting physical, psychological, mental, and spiritual energies until a person becomes a wellspring of energy.
Therefore, yoga is a means of healing from all physical, psychological, and mental ailments.
The exact history of yoga is unknown, but it is an Indian practice that dates back thousands of years.
It has been internationally recognized as a therapeutic method, and the United Nations has designated an International Yoga Day.
There are three types of yoga postures:
• Seated postures.
• Standing postures.
• Lying on your back.
• Lying on your stomach.
Breathing exercises: These are what distinguish yoga from any other sport:
✓ They act as a natural antibiotic, killing all microbes and viruses.
✓ They increase oxygen levels in the body, which in turn activates memory and calms the mind.
✓ They promote restful sleep.
✓ They provide excellent nourishment for the heart muscle.
• A meditation session at the end of each class, for mental calmness, to remove any tension and change negative thinking to positive thinking.
